What is Breathwork?

Breathwork is an umbrella term for various healing modalities using the breath.

Breathwork is a body-based therapy, which can create altered states of consciousness and has a positive effect on your physical and mental well-being.

By altering the pattern of breath, the amount of oxygen inhaled, and the amount of carbon dioxide exhaled, we can change the body chemistry temporarily.  This then can open up portals to the subconscious and metaphysical worlds.

The breath creates a bridge to hidden parts of ourselves, awakening ancient emotions, and trapped desires. Once the subconscious begins to rise to consciousness, great healing can take place.

In a breathwork session, you immerse into a conscious breathing practice that helps release these "memories" from the cells and rejuvenate the body.

 

The Experience

Creating the correct breath requires consciousness. This consciousness is so important to the process. This is a tool to open the gateways between the conscious and the subconscious.

Each person's experience will be very unique, but there are some common sensations that occur. People often feel tingling throughout their whole body, there might be temperature fluctuations. Time often is bypassed and an hour can feel like a minute.

At the end of a breathwork session, it is important to be still and in peace for a few minutes. This can be a very blissful time and should be treasured.
